Description

A COLLECTION OF 20 HARRISBURG COIN CLUB BRONZE MEDALS The HHC struck its first medal in 1963, an annual tradition which continued for 47 years. The last HCC medal was struck in 2008. HCC medals were 32 mm in diameter, and were struck in bronze and .999 fine silver. Pewter substituted for silver for a few years during the 1980’s, and in 1975, a very few medals (believed to be less than 10) were struck in gold to commemorate the HCC’s 25th Anniversary. Over the years, HCC medals depicted historic buildings and prominent structures in the Greater Harrisburg Area. In 2019, the HCC has returned to its popular medals program after a ten-year break in the program. This year’s medal depicts the beautiful Scottish Rite Masonic Temple on the obverse, the venue for the 57th Annual Show, and the redesigned HCC and Show logo on the reverse. The HCC recently discovered a small hoard of select years of previously-issued bronze medals. After inventorying the remaining medals, the HCC determined it could assemble less than ten sets containing 19 different years of the medals. Recently, a single 1967 medal was discovered, making it possible to assemble this set containing 20 of the 47 HCC medals. All HCC silver medals have been sold-out for many years. The collection of 20 HCC bronze medals being offered, makes it relatively easy to complete a sizeable portion of a complete collection. Each medal is protected in an air-tight, acid-free protective holder. Attempting to complete such a collection today would likely require much patience and resources. This is a special opportunity for discriminating collectors of medals. The sale of this set directly benefits the HCC and its ongoing Young Numismatists and other numismatic educational programs. BIDDING ON THIS BEAUTIFUL SET OF BRONZE HCC MEDALS STARTS AT A VERY MODEST PRICE OF $70.00.

Very Nice, great addition to your collection!
